Upshur ARES completed a seminar consisting of Traffic Handling Training, presented by KA5AZK, Jo Ann and ARS Grounding and Lightning Protection, by W5BWC, John. We passed actual Radiogram Traffic on 40M, had a hands-on view of Grounding and a hamburger lunch with trimmings and sides. This will count as our third Exercise of 2021 as it was held on SET day.
May 10, 2021.
Upshur ARES completed our first Drill Saturday May 8. We had a simulated wild fire in southern Upshur County. He had 10 stations participating and a good Exercise.
Congratulations to the Upshur County ARES! We completed 2020, actually May – Dec with 364 check-ins to ARES Net, representing 182 hours of on-air training and 40 hours of in-person training. We also had 4 activations (all SKYWARN) with a total of 25 stations.
We begin 2021 with 14 active members and I am looking forward to 2021 with Upshur county ARES. Thank you all for making 2020 ARES a success!
